My cousin sent me this link of the most amazing video of a flathead V8 running with only one head. I did a search and didn't find anything on here about this that had been posted. If it's a duplicate, feel free to delete it. http://www.bangshift.com/blog/Neato-Video-Running-a-Flathead-V8-Without-a-Cylinder-Head.html
They used to set up Model A engines (IIRC) to run on two cylinders and used the other two as a compressor.
Wild Turkey, they also did that with a flathead 8 cyl...We had one on display at the Towe Ford Museum, in Sacramento Ca. 4TTRUK
A friend of mine here in Arkansas goes to swap meets with a 59AB missing one head. Fires it up and watches people gawk!
heard lots of people here have lost their head at one time or another. is that a early Edelbrock "Regular" intake manifold?
Barney Navarro set a record with his roadster with only 4 pistons in his. Cool engines. Always will be.
Fords are built that way. The compressor that constuction uses for air to power jack hammers is in reality a ford small block running on one side only and using the other side to compress the air for the jack hammer.
I wonder what issues could arise from doing that for an extended period? I guess it would be just like my Pontiac 194.5! Sent from my iPhone using TJJ!!!
I was gonna say that exact same thing! If it's the same guy he also had a little V8-60 on his trailor he fired up for me. I like getting up to the mountain but it seems like it's the same ole thing every year.
