I have a spool of colored-cloth spark plug wire and I'd like to see some photos of how you guys route it on you flatheads for inspiration. Mine is a 1952 8BA with three carbs and a standard (non-crab) distributor.

    Thanks,
    Carl

Hi Carl, you might get some pics over on the Ford Barn. mike

In use the stock wire looms (the later ones with 4 individual holes, not the early ones that route all of the wires through one common grommet). I like the way they look and they separate the wires more. They may not work with tri-carbs (I run a 2G on a bored out Merc manifold).

    Worth a try.

I just redid mine. I was inspired by the ‘29 roadster that was recently on the cover of Street Rodder magazine. Clean look.

Here is my version just an update of the originals but shiny - I had the originals but through them out ........stupid me

I fitted them to the motor and now I have this. They are just about the same as the originals and bolt onto the same inlet manifold bolts.

I did something similar as ACME30. I used early wire looms and cut out the angle part where it heads to the distributor and re-weld the flute back on the tube. You also may need to relocate the mounting taps

That is about it as far as fabric covered wires on 8BA style flatheads in my photos from Trog and the Eastwest Fathead runs.
Same car two different years at the East-West Flathead run.
The fabric covered plug wire seems to be far more a banger thing than a V8 thing with the guys who drive them.
