I am building an 1950 - 8BA for my 40 Ford coupe. I have what I thought was a flywheel for a 10" Clutch. But when setting a 10" Pressure plate on it I found that it is actually for a 9.5" Clutch.
The fly wheel came with the engine and I am afraid of Starter ring gear problems if I dont get it right.

I would rather run a 10' clutch but was told that the 9.5 would work ok.
I am shooting for 175 to 200 hp

What combo would work well with the final assembly being a T-5 behind the 8BA?

From what I read I am not the only one to go thru this. I just dont want any surprises later. Some one knows of the perfect combo I am sure.

    Thank In advance.

The 9.5" is more than adequate - it was the default size for use in shoeboxes - fairly heavy cars.

Are you planning a bunch of banzai starts with smoking slicks?:D The clutch will be the last thing that you have to worry about.
