I have a stack of flathead camshafts and I have three types.

    49-53 with gear on front
what everyone calls 32-48 with thin flange and key slot

and a third type with a thick flange on the front, but otherwise same as the 32-48 style....

I notice vanpelts shows that 37-38s look like a different cam is that what I have?

'32-41 have at different times 2 different flange (plus some strange early '32 stuff...), earl took a pressed on gear, later a bolt on. Both have the drive lug for the distributor about 3/8" longer than '42-48. Just line them up by a common feature to distinguish.
'42-8 were all the bolt-on gear type. Referred to by the grinders as "21A" type for Ford PN prefix. This one was sold as replacement for the short cams with a little separate button that extends the distributor drive...swap would also entail matching up the cam drive gears.
