Technical Flathead 60 hp transmission guts in 39 case??

    It is synchronized on 2 and 3, not a crashbox like the A transmission.

    case is pre-35 too...of course, since serial is 1933. Below is a link on basic ID of the regular V8 transmissions...note that you can ID origin of case from serial, but then you need to look inside to see what 80 years of hotrodders and farmers have done to it. The '33 is likely stock throughout since it has early tower, and is synchronized for up and down shifting on 2 and 3. Different synchros than later trans. The basic generations are very crudely '32-35, '36-'39, and '39 up, with '39 getting a mix of early and late.

    I don't know much about non-big V8 ones, but the circa 1941 4 cylinders, '37-9 commercial/taxi 60's, and 1940 60 used the basic big trans (generally with 29 tooth set) and can be adapted easily.
