so I am reassembeling my 30 over flatty
things didnt go according to plan and I am now RE USING my old pistons and rings
I know that the top two ring gaps need to be opposite each other to reduce oil blow by, should the face forward and rearward, or up and down?
where should the gap in the lowest ring face?
the triangle on the piston faces forward?

These rings rotate..... sometime in their lives the gaps will all line up

To start with just set them so the gaps are not lined up

It's more important that the ring grooves aren't worn out and that the rings have proper end gap so they don't bump and cause wear that way

    I use lottsa WD-40
