This is the question i have been pondering. my 53 olds 98 303 engine needs a new cam / lifters/ timing chain etc. Compression is still good within 20 psi of eachother. sooooo do i fix it (engine and tranny are still in the car) and the car has been running up until this point....

or do i swap in a 394 olds with tranny that i have sitting in the garage? this 394 was running a few years ago, has not been run lately. needs things like a carb rebuild, and i will also need a new tranny yoke for the different tranny.

    send me your thoughts/ideas. .....

You will have exhaust issues installing the 394 if you want to go with duals and a 324 should bolt right up.
