Technical Fitting my 39 drums

    Just about to fit the rear hubs back on my 39 after doing the brakes. I need to know what torque to tighten them to. I'm fitting new wheel bearings. Anything special I need to know about. I can't find any info on them. Thought they would at least be on u-tube

    200-220 and keep tightening to the first hole for cotter pin. Don't exceed 275.

  3. make sure the taper on the axle and in the hub is smooth and almost polished as well as the hub, you want it to go together dry. if you have rough spots, you can smooth them out with emery cloth and lap the hub and axle together with valve lapping compound. it works really well and gets a very tight fit.
