fisrt attempt at a shifter

    so i swapped a fe motor into my old 64 f100, it has a c6

    i have more time than money so heres what i came up with

    That is really cool!! I was going to fab my own for a car I'm building, yours looks great!

    I really dig that!! Way cool!!

    You could add a chrome shifter arm later when you find one at a swap meet just by drilling a couple holes!

    so how does it work?? do you have to pull the handle to the side to shift it???

    i do have more pics
    it has a beveled allen bolt that slips in to a hole in the shift arm to lock it in drive
    u push to one side to get it past the allen, there will also be a nutral switch and a park lock but im not there yet

    Nice work!!
    I modified an old Mustang shifter for use with my AOD trans. It took some trial and error to get the geometry correct, but works well in all the proper detents.

    yeah ive laying on my back staring at the bottom of the truck for an hour wondering about the geomatry. lol

    Just measure the throw of the shifter arm on the trans., fab a rod to fit around everything in all positions and then match the travel on your shifter arm. Not much room under there, is there? :rolleyes:

    nice clean shot!! :), just have to make the bracket for the trans arm!
    should be done today,
    now all i need is a drive shaft and a exhaust
