I have been waiting to do this for a LONG time - I fired up the Apache last night and did that 406 ever sound sweet! I am so stoked - this has been a big hurtle. I started it last month and it pissed water out the back of the motor from a leaking freeze plug, so... pull the tranny and flex plate to get at it and replace, this time i used some RVT gasket sealer around the edge for insurance. Had my buddy bend up some temp exhaust pipe and tacked on some bullet glass packs that come out under the doors, may just keep them until I go deaf. Now just have to clean up the wiring EZ Wire (junk) the wire that says "power windows" actually comes from the "ignition" slot on the fuse block - my step son Brad figured that one out. And finish bleeding the brakes to get some pedal, bolt in the seat and dirve it! I am so stoked that I didn't want to come to work today, just wanted to finish the damn thing so I start assembly of the DOGG Bucket. Will roll out in the light and post some pics real soon - sorry for the ramblings but just had to tell you folks and mainly I want to say THANKS for helping with all my stupid questions. later DOGG
I'm stoked your stoked. Always fun to hear it run for the first time. Just wait 'til you actually drive it!! post some pics.
Congrats holmes,,,hopefully i'll be heading back down there in a couple of months and we'll have to hook up so i can hear it in person..Besides, it will give us a reason to blow the 'dust' off my father's 55,,if ya know what i mean!! Dirty
Dirty Rat - Oh yeah that would be fun, just like "2 Lane Blacktop" movie but different 4T6 - once I get the bugs shook off of it, a road trip that way is in the plans nothing better than scaring old ladies in Cadillacs on 19. I need to do it before I have to get a second job to pay for the gas.
