Some of you guys have seen the thread I made awhile back about my hot rod bathroom. Here's the thread: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=543757 Well we had a lamp that short circuited in the room next to it and burst into flames well my dad and I ripped the lamp out of the wall and went to take it to the bathroom which happened to be my hot rod bathroom. But when we brought it out of the room it got fresh oxygen and got huge when it was in the bathroom. Caught the rug on fire and the hamper. My dad and I ran downstairs with the towering inferno and got it out side. My wonderful girlfriend Amy stayed behind and put out all the little fires in my bathroom because she wanted to save all my hot rod stuff (love that girl!) The firemen said if we didn't get the lamp out if the house we would of lost the top floor. And guess where our fire extinguisher was??? In the garage/shop area! Because you know that's where we would most likely get a fire! Well all in all its all okay! None of the hot rod stuff got damaged but we will need new carpet and a new toilet seat cover haha. So always keep an eye out you never know when a fire will happen. If this is OT feel free to delete.
only on the hamb can we have a thread about lighting our hot-rod bathrooms on fire. glad everything is all good (mostly) and wish i had a hot rod bathroom.
Crazy! I work in a paint plant. Fire is always in the back of my mind. Really spooks me. Glad all is ok!
I've got some cool old stuff that plugs in, radio, clock, etc, but I've always been afraid of leaving them pluged in for just this reason. Glad to hear your situation wasn't worse and no one was hurt.
Glad the fire wasnt worse, would have hate to have heard your cool bathroom burned up. Count your blessings on this one.
Haha! We were actually having a party at the time and we had lots of Mexican food. So when someone yelled fire well you know they thought I just had too many jalapeños haha Yeah I'm glad it wasn't any worse! I just can't believe it happened so quick! We almost went to the drags that day and if we came back the house could have been gone! Always be prepared with fire extinguishers not just in your garage!
