  3. is the 15-1/2 year-old mark and we are waiting in line to get a drivers permit. Pretty sure that is a good motivator to get to work. Still can’t believe my kids are getting this old.

Be HAPPY he wants to get his license as soon as he can. Too many teenagers now have no burning desire to get one.

  5. Finally made a little progress today. We unstacked all the crap that had accumulated on and around the pickup and pulled out the torque tube rearend so we could work out mounting the one from the 69 Camaro. Best I can tell, appears we can use the original Camaro mounting pads. We just need to figure out what all we need to do to get it low enough. Thinking of reversing the main leaf eyes, pulling a few leaves, and putting in some blocks. The front has Posies springs, so I suppose we could consider that for a better ride and likely shorter blocks. We will see, but at least it now has 5 bolt all the way around. Oh, we still need to find either a set of 15x7 5-spokes or one to match one or the other that are mismatched on rear now. Trying to use all straight spoke ones.

So close! Had to drop the spring on the right side to get it out...

Appears the spring pad spacing is right on for the original spring locations on frame.

  6. ...I've built a bunch of these trucks, on the rear I remove all but the longest five leafs,...then I made my own lowering blocks, maybe 4"...never had a problem with em.
