I want to install F-100 front brakes on my 1939 Ford PU. I allready have 1948 brakes and wheels. The question is about the the differences in the brake hoses to the wheel cylinders. Is the a fitting that will fit between the 39 to 48 hose that is 7/16x20NF to the 3/8x24NF F-100 female hole in the wheel cylinder? What can I do?

  2. Why not just get new hoses that with 3/8 male for the wheel cyl and 7/16 female for the other end. You have to take the hoses of anyway.

The 1939 to 1948 Fords use 1/4" brake lines.

  4. 1/4" inverted flare threads are 7/16" female. The 1/4" steel line screws directly into the right hose and the banjo bolt that goes thru the tee fitting screws into the left hose.

Raybestas hose Part # 16179 is 15.5" long 3/8 male-7/16 female. Worked fine on my '40
