Looks like the type of Hubcap that was used a lot by the Valley Custom Shop. There were several variations on these, and as far as I know a few companies made them, or very similar. "H" and "I"
I don't see anything to make it a "flipper" ? I settled for two piece to get the look. (1947 Plymouth rings 15")
Thanks for the responses i think you nailed it rikster they look to be nos and are still wrapped in the paper, the guy said he migt have the boxes too. ill post if i can get them. heres a little better pic I say flipper i mean art deco post war, these are just over 15 so probably for a 16 inch rim?
Hard to say, as we don't know how much they cover the edge of the wheel hoop. "just over 15" almost sounds like 15" rim, because of where the tire bead is. I could be wrong
16" full wheel covers are very tough to find, never mind in good shape and a set, so that is cooler yet
These are "Full Moons" popular from the 40's to the mid 50's in So Cal vs Baby Moons/Baldies, then in 1953 the Olds Fiestas came on the scene and slowly took over along with 55thru57 Dodge Royal Lancers and Buick Blades, Moons took a back seat except at my house. I'm a Valley Custom and full moon nut! JW
Year old thread but damn those are good looking caps and so right for a late 30's to end of the fat fender era custom.
