Don't really have an opinion on patina vs. new paint, but it really gripes me when guys spend thousands of $$$ to CREATE a patina!

    Love it!!!!!!

I've never really "got" the whole patina thing...the only time it made a little sense to me was on a important/significant car in the hobby or an old race car with real history (victories/records) or a car that has always been on the road over the course of its life. I really don't get it when people find a car that has been stored away or left outside and neglected, when they save that patina all they are doing is preserving the neglect that car has suffered over the years. to me if I found a car that had been neglected, I would want to put it back to the way it was when it was built as a tribute to the original builder, not preserve the neglect the car endured over the years.

anyhow...my rant got off on a tangent there. I love what you have done with it.

I like it either way, it's a beautiful car with a fantastic story. Even though they're radials, the blackwalls look 100% better IMO. Thanks for sharing.

It looks like your patina eradication project was a complete success, now if only a few others would follow your lead .

I guess if you can't afford a good looking body style you have to lower your values and settle for a 36. :)

I love it Chad! It looks great!

There is a lot to be said about original patina. Then there is more to say about a well taken care of street rod/original ride ect. You no doubt have gone in the right direction and the car is beautiful and something to be proud of. Congratulations on doing the right thing!

"We still need to find a large industrial sewing machine as ours wasn't big enough to put the correct seams in the door panels." -Django

Admittedly I didn't read every post in this thread so please pardon me if someone already offered...FWIW, I have an industrial Pfaff machine in Downer's Grove...you can borrow it for as long as you need it...PM or call me if interested.

  28. I like that car either way. Good stuff!

At first, I thought I had seen that car before. I looked through my pics and found the one I thought it was, but I guess it's a different car. Sort of similar, but different.

    Thanks everyone!

I like that Standard Revoh. Where was that taken?

My folks came up this weekend, and one of our projects was buffing old paint. I worked on my '55 and my Dad worked on the old paint on the coupe. I hadn't waxed it since I wet sanded and buffed it 4 years ago. It's amazing how well that old paint can still shine.
