I swear I saw an A when I loaded it in the truck last night.

How does it compare to the L79 intake?

  5. Probably a touch better than a stock L79, they are more of a knock off of a 67-69 Z/28 manifold which I have found ran a touch better than a L79 manifold.

I wonder if the Z28 manifold is a knock off of the C4B, the C4B came out in 1964 3 years before the Z28....

  7. Wouldnt be surprising, or if Chevy worked with Edelbrock at the time. Chevy was pretty good at hiding R&D after the AMA ban in 63 that killed the factory backed stuff on paper and it then was just hidden behind private teams.

I shaved the castings stuff off this one and used it on a 283 in a '48 Merc I had. Kept the engine when I sold the car so it's waiting for the next car to need a SBC.

I enlarged the pic, always select full image when posting pics.
looks like someone opened up the secondarys to a slot, maybe so they could run a 3 barrel?.....interesting

I posted mine on a older thread on the HAMB, but will put pictures up of what I've found throughout the HAMB and other sites like Corvette Forum and so on, I have to dig them back up again, it may take awhile.
Thanks for bringing this back up again cool Edelbrock C4B, C3B and C3BX Intake Manifolds.
Notice that on mine C3BX (top pic) compared to another HAMB members Edelbrock C3BX that the back & front runner's on the opposite side. 3620045-175b9698837c3f8dc64aec8860f32239.jpg EDELBROCK C3BX -A.jpg

I know man, but sometimes I can't justify spending my money on something just because it's old lol... if the price was comparable maybe, but it's nowhere close. But I am running points, so, we still good? :D

The C4B and C3B are usually about 100 bucks and they really perform. I can’t imagine the new manifold is that cheap? Yeah you’re ok…..

Lol I've never seen one for $100, but I did decent on a high rise dual plane. So the C4B will flow enough to hit over 6000rpm without running out? Most low rise dual plane dyno test I've watched shows them Peter out at 5 grand.

Here's a few more pictures of advertisements, they may or may not be in here already, sorry if I'm doubling up on information. Some were from other HAMB members in older date's.
The C4B HI-RISER #2515 date is 1965 in the add, $92.50 back then.
    The C3B HI-RISER #2245 add dates 1967 same price two year's later $92.50.
The #3916-A Holley 3 Barrel Carburetor $150. back in 1967.
If we only thought about buying a dozen of each new, then saving them for 50+ years...

No, Edelbrock made them for Fomoco, Mopar, Buick, Oldsmobile, Pontiac and a few other's, in Small Block & Big Block.
Look up Vintage Edelbrock Intake Manifolds on "Victory Library" from another Vintage HAMB site about Edelbrock C4B C3B C3BX, or Victorylibrary.com

They made em for Big Block Chevs too, I have the C396 on my off topic 66 Chevelle. No dyno test but is runs way better (faster) than it did with the edel performer I took off from it, plus there is the benefit (to me) that is is era correct, have I mentioned how I hate modern stuff? as far as 6000 rpms are concerned I can't tell you that, It is a street car. I may have wound it that tight but I don't know. It has a knee knocker tach and I ain't lookin down at it when I am bangin gears. And @Lloyd's paint & glass what rpm range do they give on the manif you bought? you already have a cam that is going to kill bottom end, hopefully you don't have an intake that is going to kill off even more??? But hey I am a custom car guy, I don't know crap about go fast shit....

Edelbrock made this series of intake manifold for pretty much every V8 that was popular at the time. In fact, both American Motors and Chrysler had them made with factory part numbers cast on them so they would be legal to run in stock class drag racing.

1500-6500, figured that would be a compromise.

So what you're saying is don't ever expect to see an LS in your Chevelle!
I never drank the Kool-Aid either.
