Does speedy Bill make his own Eddie Meyer intakes?
If not does anyone know who makes them for him?
I would like to buy one of the two carb bolt on tops.
The sales staff tell me they will sell just the top to me, But for now those and the manifolds are on back order. It has been over a year.

  2. When I worked there in the early 80's, Bill had all the tooling in crates, just as they had been shipped to Lincoln from California. I'd suspect the casting and machining is now done off shore which explains the long "out of stock" situation.

I just tried to Email Don Orosco and it came back. It said I am not approved to send Don emails. Not sure how one would get on the approved list.

    I will try to call.

The speedway intakes and the Orosco intakes are not the same...

Dons are a lot better and a lot more expensive... I called him once and he actually called me back. A really nice guy and a great driver. But his flathead parts are from another planet and are priced accordingly.

  7. Aw hell, just send him an email to get on the approved list.... :D

I think the Speedway intake is for the 8ba flatmotor and Orosco makes his for the 21 and 24 stud 59a motors . I have an Orosco on my '40 and it's quality....Z.D.

I have Don O's intake and heads on my flatty and they are REALLY NICE!

Have not seen the Speedway ones, but can vouch for Don's.

I think the top is the same for both intakes , so you should be able to use either 8ba or 59ab ?.....

I installed the speedway tall intake on a friends (jay) 8ba powered 30 coupe.
The top and bottom parts bolt together,
and there is an exhaust-heat-riser that is in the center there.
Well anyway there was no way it would seal with the gaskets,
it would barely seal with 2 gaskets!
(the center piece was too short)
so what turned out to be a quick bolt-on turned into 2-days of unplanned machining etc.

    Originally it was plain cast,
but since it needed to be stripped I ended up painting the logo as well,
and then wire-brush finishing it too, since its just a sand-cast finish,
with some acorns instead of the nylocks...

Not spin this thread in another direction, but whats the difference in the way of mounting an intake from a a/b or an 8 to a 221 motor. I have been trying to figure out without buying the gaskets if they are the same, which everything I have been able to put together suggests the intake gasket on all of them are the same, so if they are, why cant you use the intake itself. I want to do something with my 21 stud, but havent gotten any reply from anyone. Anyone? help?

i got one from speedway and was amazed how poor quality the castings where, damn you'd cut your finger if yu just shoved it in to any of the holes.
i spent a few hours port matching it ... smoothing and rounding the internal corners .. and it wasn't cheep from speed way ether ..
ol 8cm sure runs good with it..
