I have looked in my shop manual for the how to on dropping the oil pan to replace the gasket but i only see how to replace the front gasket. It is the pontiac 316. It almost looks like the engine would have to come out to change it. Anybody know how?

Pull the idler arm & take the bolts out of the mounts. It's also time to check the timing chain if the pan's off.

Thanks 55chieftan, for some odd reason I didn't see that any time I checked.
