Drilled Straight Axle ?????

    ok i had someone tell me that a drilled straight axle is stronger then a solid one he said it lets it flex but that doesn't make sense aren't solid axles designed to flex anyway???

    I would "think" anything that you remove mass from would becoming weaker

    thats what i thought but this guy was dead set on that they are stronger when there drilled

    I figure that if they were better, Henry Ford would have made holes, just to save on material costs. You know, 2 cents and axle back then would have been a pretty big deal, if you are making enough axles.

  6. If I remember right when Pete & Jakes introduce their aluminum I beam they did some testing and found the drilled axle was as strong as the undrilled. I can't remember which magazine the article was in.

    Looks great. I can't imagine that they're stronger.
