My ride in motion last weekend at Famoso. Qualified 13th and lost to my mate Adam Sorokin in round one. Went 6.41/207 out of the trailer and improved to a 6.31/214 in second round of qualifying. Went 6.29/216 against Adam and then came back on Sunday afternoon for a test shot and ran 6.200/222.49 on my 17th trip down the track in the car (including my license runs). Special thanks to Dan Horan Sr and Jr for helping make this possible.

Backing up before the 6.20 lap, the rest of the pix are from Friday (left lane) and Saturday

Yeah, we used to have a promoter (I think it might have been Broadway Bob Metzler) who would stand up during the Q&A session with an insurance rep and say, "I've got this blind jet dragster driver coming..."

Leah is the real deal too. She can and does do about anything on a race car and has been known to outwork male members of the crew. She crewed on Brian Thiel's funny car at the US Nationals this year and crew chief Johnny West told me that she made the rest of the team look bad (work wise--she makes a bunch of guys look bad all the time <G>).
In addition she is articulate and is wise way beyond her years.

This cars auction ends in 10 minutes from ebay at 10k starting bid. Does anyone remember this car from the dates he has listed.? Also no bids either, sounds like a good deal to me.

listing info

This is a custom-built drag race car that has been in the family for years. The Engine is a 392 Hemi with a Torg Filter Transmission. Built in 1967, this classic car was raced mainly in the Midwest region on US30 and Union Grove Dragaway and competed in Nationals in 1968-1969-1970. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />
The homemade body frame is made of fiberglass and the car weighs approximately 2500lbs. Car also comes with lots of spare engine parts.
Car comes with Forest Rive trailer (only 1,000 miles on it).
Both items have been safely kept in a covered garage.
This car is a classic and was a one-of-a kind racer in its day – still runs!!.
