The Greek with brand new tin on his Kent Fuller car--one of six Fuller cars that Karamesines raced over the years.

Brian, that was Al Fontanini who died on the road along with a crewmember on their way to a race in I believe 1970. Lippy

Al was a great racer and surely would have been one of the big guys. Lippy

They were actually headed to New England Dragway when a semi rear ended them at a toll booth on the Pennsy Pike. Jim Christensen (who was Al's crew chief) was the second victim.
Reno was still around and in his mid 70's in 2012.

Quite an array of name cars, I wonder if this was right before or after the '61 Indy Nationals. I went through it slowly and here's the cars I recognized- Pete Robinson @ 2 minutes, Palmer Lazarus in the green '56 Chevy @ 3:00, Afrons? @ 3:20, Ron Pellegrini in Ivo's twin @ 3:27, Speed Sport III dragster @ 4:12, Bob Sullivan's Pandemonium @ 4:30, Speed Sport roadster @ 4:46, Karamesines @ 5:15, Art Malone @ 5:19, possibly Jess Van Deventer's Modified Roadster @ 5:30, Elverne Pfeifer's Willys @ 7:26, Gabby Bleeker @ 8:08, possibly Shake, Rattle & Run @ 8:19, Karamesines twin, I think Don Maynard drove @ 8:38, Mike Marinoff @ 8:56, Ron Colson in the Studebaker gas coupe @ 9:03, Moody & Jones @ 9:06 and the Greek @ 9:08.
That is a great find @ttwomotor , thanks for posting it.

Yes we have it but no info as to how it ran. Built by Joe Todd with two SBC's.

Thought this was a car built for LSR and just being tested at a drag strip. Maybe wrong.

I think Frakes and Funk in the far lane and definatly Joe Todd of Vincennes Indiana in the near lane. Joe only lives a few blocks from me. Also I was there that day. Joe appears a little behind in the photo but the Chevy,s got there first.

Ive added a pic of the same car as it was originally campaigned in 1965,66 by Jim Almeter. In 67 it was sold to Vanek in Toronto & painted red becoming the 1/4 mile hustler until 71, He barn stormed all over the US. Hap Gooder owned it from 1973-2016 & restored it back to original. This was the last pic we took with the car after we sold it at Mecum Indy 2016. Now resides in a collection in Pennsylvainia! If anyone has any pics please send them or post, we have very few pics of the 1/4 mile hustler.
    Thanks, Don Miller, Crew
