Yeah, that was more of a statement than an identification, I knew there was a digger with that name but couldn't remember which one it was.
As soon as I posted that I knew it would be in question.

Unless TV Tom had a helmet painted just like Ron Pellegrini (RIP) I think that is Ron and another clue is how tall he sits in the seat. Illinois born Pellegrini toured the side by side twin and the four motor car for Ivo and also bought the inline twin Buick car that Ivo had just completed when the NHRA lifted the fuel ban and he immediately switched to a hemi powered rail.
Pellegrini later started Fiber-Glass Ltd. and supplied many early FC bodies.

The Ford is the starter motor for the Chrysler.
    Sorry...had to say it.

You may be right although Ivo did use helmets with scalloped paint jobs for quite a few years. As for how tall the driver is sitting check this shot of TV

And this one of what I assume is Ron because it obviously is not TV or Snake

On second thoughts--I just went back and looked at the original post and the car has the Accessories Ltd logo so it is Ron.

The rails are awesome, but let’s see more older ‘30s and ‘40s stuff!

    Hello,
This FAKE PHOTO should not be posted as it is a detriment to the original photograph from back in those real drag racing days. Mike Cook, Doug Cook's son gave me a photo of the original action from those times and explained the photo. SWC is/was one of the best in So Cal with a great build and race records. It is one of the best match races between the two Willys groups from So Cal.

He was kind enough to give me a signed copy of the actual race at the original Lions Museum opening night in 2017. Hopefully, this corrected photo will overshadow that purely fake photoshop copy.

I normally do not write such an expose, but the new gen hot rodders have enough stuff to satisfy their history without a fake photo, thinking it is the real thing.

That memory of such a great race should not be altered in any way. It is like saying Vanilla Ice was the originator of the song, Satisfaction, by the Rolling Stones...

This is probably the last car in the Blue Angels history, the SPE framed top fueller. Early on the Massillion, OH car club fielded a couple of double engine cars after starting with a GMC six engined car in the early 50's. One of the doubles has been restored and is displayed at events in the area. This is what it looked like at the Blue Suede Cruise at Norwalk last year.
