    I can relate to you guy's reminiscence. In 1960 I used to race my flathead powered '34 pickup on Saturday nights at a small place called Circle Dragstrip in Dallas. You were allowed to stand around the starting line about 8' from the cars! The exhaust would actually blow your pant legs as they left.
    wbr32 on the HAMB probably remembers it. Circle is long gone for about 40 years.

    Strictly speaking this one is way too recent but at least the car looks totally period correct even down to Rocky's helmet and goggles.

    For me, the decal on the fuel tank was a giveaway. Back in the day, we didn't substitute a "z" for an "s". Guess my days of teaching English are catching up?
