The top picture is Charles Scott' Ardun T, the bottom is Holly Hendrich's fuel modified roadster

Sent from my iPad using The H.A.M.B. mobile app

  8. The fuel line on Holly's car passing right over the scatter shield would cause me concern.

    Question for the group?
Google doesn't always have the answer: anyone know if there was a successful effort to verify the GBP win/loss record?

  18. Yeah Mark, I wasn't thrilled with that design either, but Ron Foreman did it for me for free so I couldn't bitch about it. That goofy bastard with the cowboy hat ain't helping it either. ;):D

Thanks - should have been more specific - showing my age. Maybe never know the answer for sure.

Chrisman & Cannon attempt at a twin fueler, like the Coburn and Leffler "Iron Mistress" and the Greek's twin, made a lot of smoke but was too heavy to be competitive. Interesting that Art never built a body for it, as he did his other dragsters, probably wondering if it would be worth it...

Romeo Palamedes beautiful car, built by Pete Ogden...this is an early version, Desoto powered. it later got a Chrysler with a front-mounted blower.

Wayne Ferguson's "Satisfaction" modified roadster at Pomona

Phil Freudinger at Colton during a SCTA-sponsored drag race. SCTA normally just ran the lakes and Bonneville, but tried a brief stint at drag racing....Phil also partnered with Tom Cobb on several Bonneville cars

Don't have i.d.s for either car..pretty sure that this is Fontana. (See Roo's note below, could be Winter & Potter "Vandal," I agree, Joe Winter and Eddie Potter, two great characters...if I remember right, it had an iron cross painted on the back body.

The Standard 1320 website is derelict, nothing works, email is dead too.
    Anyone know what happened there?
