  8. The '37 in this photo is the car that I believe is the one I have owned for the last 37 years. Does anyone have any info on this car or anyone that was associated with it. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I used to see that car run at Atco back in the day. I seem to remember it being painted and lettered the same as the Shallcross brothers Chevy coupe of about the same vintage. Dark green with yellow letters. Maybe they ran as a team? Very quick cars and crowd pleasers.

  13. The Super Ford was not a wheelstander at all, but a racecar in the early funny car wars. Had a blown 354" Chrysler on fuel. Run by Svela & Sons out of Portland.

From George Klass...I'm pretty sure that this is Sumner & Burt, before their more famous Fiat fuel competition coupe. Probably Slim Sumner at the wheel, if I remember right, it had the same blown Chrysler that went into the Fiat...Fremont, very early '60s.

Svela & Sons "Super Ford" (Beaverton, Oregon) was powered by early Chrysler, on fuel. It wasn't a wheelstander. Super Ford 1.jpg Super Ford 2.jpg SF3.jpg

The picture showing him change spark plug looks like the Hemi was a good choice.

I love this shot, the true essence of what a 'vette should be used to do. I'll bet a purist would have a severely negative reaction!

  28. I think that is putting it mildly! But it sure is a bad ass Corvette!!

  29. ^That's my new favorite Vette^. Sorry Baron. Yours still rules of course!

Yeah I work on a bunch of the restored corvettes and I am just hoping the day will come that I get to work on one like this.
