Kidding! On my way out to the shop to fire off Gregs new engine. Looks like a good day to lose the neighbor of the year award......again.

This photo also looks a lot like Dover Drag Strip up state New York with the mountains in the backround.

Roo Man and tommyd - why not meet in the parking lot of Edward's drive in on south Sherman or maybe the Mug & Bun on 10th street ( which would mean equidistant travel from Greenwood and Brownsburg ) and settle your issues on the parking lot? Just kiddin - keep up the good work both of you.

Here's a fair picture of the Brasher-Cummings car with Terry Rose. One of my all time favorite 33's. Brasher-Cummings-Rose.jpg

No way. I respect my elders! I'm just bustin' his chops and he's just keeping me lined out. I need all the help I can get.

  17. Now THAT's an awesome video! Thanks for posting it. Lots of people I know from my home town and even some folk from my new home base! That is the first time that I've heard Dick Harrell and Jim Tice speak. And Butch Leal looked like he was a member of the Beach Boys!

My source was captioned Rod Stuckey, I'm thinking maybe in an early Sullivan car. I knew Rod, but it is difficult to see enough of his face to confirm.

It's definitely Rod in the 5th picture down, second from left. The Greek is 5th person from left and the crew is posed next to Karamasines' Stuckey-chassised car.

The last photo in my post was captioned as being the same run that resulted in Rod's being burned badly. It's Rod's pink '56 Ford wagon pushcar in the background. Rod's fire led to mandatory firesuits.

In '64, Rod told me that particular chassis later became Greer, Black and Prudhomme. That story is controversial and is denied by Kent Fuller who claims he built the GBP chassis. Kent's story on the matter is very believable; however, current GBP owner bruce Meyer stated in the Hot Rod Magazine article on his restoration of GBP that Rod built its chassis.

Rod's chassis are easy to identify; They all had the "toy windup key" pushbar.

  30. Jim McLennan campaigned this AA/GD during the NHRA fuel ban, but could never get it to perform the way he wanted and quickly returned to fuel racing. The Twin had a 6:71 blower in back and a 4:71 in front, both equipped with Algon injectors. He was also wearing what possibly could be the very first fire suit-(Cotati 1961).
