Caption is "Frantic Four," assume Weekly, Rivero, Fox and Holding...with the really long headers...looks line Dennis Holding driving the pickup.

No ID on this injected Chrysler

VERY early Howard Cam Special, still running carburetors ... if I remember correctly, Glenn Ward was one of the first drivers of this car....before Jack Chrisman took the helm

Caption is "Jim Seaton," though Jim usually ran a competition roadster...this 55 custom looks familiar, didn't Sam Barris build one like this after he returned to Northern California? This is Santa Maria

Lee LeBaron racing Nanook, this looks like Lions. Neither one of these guys knew the meaning of the word "lift."

This issue of SS&DI has the div. 1 meet at Cecil County with the Wheelstand of Ray Kobel's yellow Willys coupe and my MG with the funnel Hilborn injector stacks. I will scan it and post.

More from the Screwdriver's file...two roadsters racing at Saugus, '52-'53, probably

    1476078_1514116125514958_7171109643165568930_n.jpg
Santa Ana, Dodge-bodied roadster, closest, '52, probably

    1614474_1515541082039129_1491106980367643841_o.jpg
Santa Ana, that's how early competition cars got engines started, human power...there were also rolling starts, to save on blown transmissions, wasted axle keys, etc...

No ID on this injected dragster, anyone?

    Santa Ana...

Dean Moon, at Santa Ana, probably '51-'52. Dean belonged to the Hutter's Car Club, so named because they hung out at the Hula Hut drive in, which was in the Whittier area, though I am not sure where...of course Dean would go on to found Moon Equipment in nearby Santa Fe Springs...(I don't know if this sedan was painted Moon yellow, but that was Dean's color for most of his race cars)

Two coupes racing at Saugus, nearest one has some kind of hemi in it...wonder if this was early Rizzio and Gray before the chop?

More pages from the previous post by "thehazguy" I'm partial to this issue it has my MG in it with the funnel Hilborn injector stacks, Willie made them up to see if it added anything, didn't really notice a difference. My friend Ray Kobels Willys started doing bumper scraping wheelstands at Cecil County that weekend, in fact he ground the bumper guards down on the car.
