    One big difference between the two Opals pictured above is that one has doors that open, and the other has no doors, period. My personal preference for cars (race or otherwise) are cars with doors and door handles. I have little use for one-piece bodies that are connected to the chassis by a hinge in the ass end. When those "flip top" Comets came out in the mid 1960's, I threw in the towel. A prop to hold the hood open, good. A prop to hold the body up so the driver can get in and out, not good in my book (I must admit, I have a very old book).

    Don't know what the case was on this deal but in our "neck of the woods" we had some guys who would
    let their competition push down first and then fuck around with starting and lining up to try to make the
    other guy's car overheat. One would hope that big names like this would not resort to "dirty pool", but...

    I was trying to clean it up a bit when I said "dirty pool". Actually we call it "chicken shit" down here!
    That's when a person is not man enough to face a competitor in a fair fight. Some will say "strategy"..'naw...C.S.!

    I remember this car very from the magazines well. I always thought it was one of the most beautiful cars. proportions, packaging, color - all amazing...
