    First, from George Klass:

Booth Brothers at Half Moon Bay...that T coupe in the background was featured in R&C

The late Don Tuttle, Algon injected...Don started California Chassis Engineering, his son later took it over...This is around '62...Don was from Chatsworth, good guy

Lining up, Jack Chrisman in Mickey Thompson's hemi Pontiac at the Nationals, not sure who he is racing. Jack won the meet.

    1396701.jpg
Lefty, looks like Lions...Wayne Ferguson's "Satisfaction" blown Olds roadster behind...

    2084865.jpg
Maybe Tom Prufer's "Power King" fueler?

Saugus, looks like the Bernardini Brothers roadster far left...this is all housing now, no trace of the airport that was used as a drag strip

from the Screwdriver's file...dragster could be early Chrisman #25. Sedan on right is Ewell-Goldworthy, driven by veteran Jack Ewell. Jack would go on to fuel dragsters, winning the '60 Smoker's meet, and then to the Fuller "Chubasco" fueler. This is probably Santa Ana, maybe '50 or '51

Pat: Dino would know the answer I am sure.
It might have been owned by a member of the Fairfield Timing Association.

Some more from the Screwdriver's Car Club collection:

    10649038_1486546898271881_4545010156884533065_o.jpg
This deuce roadster is in transition from street to competition...notice that even then some cars had their equipment name painted on the car.

    10659284_1486540308272540_4041375856052527850_n.jpg
Looks like a competition roadster at Saugus

    10679960_1486547174938520_6084217476715553637_o.jpg
Fred Larson, from La Mirada, CA. Fred, who worked for many years at Moon Equipment, build many world-class Bonneville cars, but this was before them. Probably Santa Ana, given the wind sock....the runway next to the drag strip was active back then (today, it is all the John Wayne Airport, nothing left of Santa Ana)

    10698479_1486540644939173_355587140132589806_n.jpg
Saugus...(opened around '52, run by Lou Baney, partly as a place to race after a day at the lakes....couldn't compete with San Fernando, which opened around '56, no trace now...no trace of San Fernando either, except that the building that housed the snack bar might remain)

    10698494_1486540421605862_6566618798268570205_n.jpg
whoever took these pictures did not always aim the camera well, notice the roadster far left of picture

    10702152_1486540254939212_1247803323965583295_n.jpg
Tony Waters, Bakersfield. Tony ran this GMC powered roadster, later unblown and even later blown Desoto that powered it to runner-up at the first Smoker's meet. Tony later went on to fuel dragsters, passed away a few years ago

    10704231_1486546944938543_8860253549960522928_o.jpg
Another roadster with equipment maker on hood...I'm not sure where this is

    10730911_1486540468272524_8545433321601072999_n.jpg
Same roadster as in earlier picture...transition from street now includes the blanked-off shell...this is competition only

    10805767_1507767202816517_423161038173516553_n.jpg
Pretty sure that the roadster on the left is Jack Calori's...but not when Jack owned it. Jack sold it to his dentist, whose name was Potts, I think. Jack HATED whitewalls, so when Dr. Potts put whitewalls on his new roadster, Jack refused to drive it when Potts wanted to race it...we remember Jack better for his classic '36 Ford custom, but he was also a hot rodder. Herb Reneau, who did the custom work on Jack's '36 also did the custom work on this roadster, which included a molded front pan with sunken license plate. The other roadster is Fred Larsen's, pictured above (This is Santa Ana, notice that helmets remained optional then)

    10834886_1514115008848403_6332939385744838767_o.jpg
I think that this is the car that became the Chrisman Brothers #25, maybe in their hands in this picture. The car was a lakester that was built in the '30s and handed down from one owner to the next until the Chrisman's got and ran it for years as a dragster. It ran a flathead, a Desoto, Dodge, and finally a Chrysler on fuel. It has been beautifully restored. Notice that the roadster driver has neither helmet nor goggles.

Another shot of the Ewell-Goldsworthy sedan, probably Santa Ana. Jack Ewell went on to fuel dragsters, and ran the counter at Mickey Thompson's

    10845725_1514116362181601_8397066740820976552_o.jpg
    Probably Chrisman brothers again

If I am not mistaken this picture was taken at the O.B. Hewett dealership located on Bragg Blvd. in Fayetteville. Just up the street was Hillcrest Drive-in. It was a KFC and still is, but the old name has not been used for a long time. This was where a lot of local street races were arranged. I have never seen this photo before, thanks for posting it. It brings back a lot of memories.
