Those flag starts were the best as the starter would point the flag at you for a nod , to let him know you were ready then to the other guy then put end of the flag on the ground

Then you had better be ready as any second you are going to ' Rock & Roll ' when he pulls her up, and you are off and running as they were just ' Priceless '

One cool thing was that they were all different in the way the moved around, and what they did with the flags too as they were real ' Showmen '

If you tried to get him to pull it early by letting your clutch out he would take the red flag that was behind his back, and point it to your lane and ' You Loose '

Then they went to the Tree ' Boring '

He looks like a young Don Prudomme, very cool looking young man, but he is wishing that he is in the " Hot Seat" Driving that Altered!
This thread should be a High School History Course in what was, and what was cool!

I love how the Twins look, I know the weight was a Handicap for them but I would have loved to get to make a pass in one.

Affirmed @Fedman, BTW, If you are still in Hawaii, standard practice is to bring back chocolate covered macadamia nuts for all your friends.

  10. My uncle Roger used to win alot of flag start street races back in the 60's, his trick was dumping the clutch and head for the starter. He said most time the guy would drop the flag and run for cover!
