ok so i've been guilty of tossing things aside because they were of no use for me for years. well not any more. case in point.....

i'm building this '55 plymouth for the wife and of course shaved all the badges and what not. now i normally do like most of us do and throw 'em in a box or something and forget about 'em until someone ask if ai have one. well in looking for some stuff for the plymouth i noticed the badges for these car for some reason bring decent money. well mine were in good shape no broken pins or anything. so sunday i list them on a 3 day auction for 7.50. figure at the least i'll get a few bucks out of 'em thinking hell maybe 20bucks. well the auction just ended at 75.50.

75 bucks for something that i might have unknowingly thrown away or given away. i guess little parts in good shape are getting harder to find. man it sure helps to know i can get a little project money from the stuff i don't use. not alot of that floating around nowadays.

anyhow the moral of the story don't throw anything out without finding out if it's worth something first...ken....

Great! Nice $ indeed. And to think some people hate the 'Bay. Say is a guy from your part's that has a Bunch of Chev muscle car's, Darell Dwighin's? Spelling is close. He had car lot as well, in the early mid '80's.

Not car related materials but helped me get my car...
I worked at a movie theater 12 years ago and one day they asked me to clean out the junk behind the screens. There were boxes of posters and materials they give to the movie critics when they screen a movie. It seemed like cool stuff so I kept it instead of throwing it away. 10 years later my wife was complaining about the boxes cluttering up the closet. She said I should throw it away. I decide to put it on ebay and at least someone might get something out of them. It went up for a $1. One week later and in the last 5 minutes the price started to soar. It stopped at $960.00.
Cool. I used the money to help pay for my car.
So I guess the point is; don't just keep your trash keep other peoples trash too! [IMG]

Given our passion for vintage tin we shouldn't be surprised that others have the same passion only for other "vintage" things. I too have been surprised by how much money some items brought that I have sold on ebay. I sold an old HP calculator that I had in college in 1984...I paid $69 for it and it sold for $375! I wish I had the time to dig through all the crap that has been building up around the house, I could probably retire just by selling cast-offs... [IMG]

I've sold several shop manuals on epay for some $$$, mostly ones that I got very cheap or free...can you believe $70 for a datsun 510 manaul set, or $50 for an amc shop manual?
