Yes the vintage air is mounted in the trunk. Had to have my water pumps reworked. Air intake and cooling ducts are on the rear shelf package tray. Works great, heat is stock 51 Merc. Cold Air Flows from rear of cab. All lines run along frame to engine bay. IMG_0243.JPG IMG_1807.JPG IMG_1174.JPG

Yes, all my cars have themes, and I can't seem to shake it no matter how hard I try.
I've been a fan of gassers since the late 50's, before I could drive. Those of the 60's era are by far my favorite, so my last 3 builds have been the 60's gasser theme. Just love this style of car.

My 54 chevy will be built like I wanted in 1994. No billet stuff or at least very little. I have been trying to build this since 94. Maybe I will get this one finished in 2021. It's my 5th try. Sorry not hamb friendly. Built by me for me. With help from a couple of hamb members. chop top and louvers.

Seeing as 10 years later I STILL cannot post pictures, all I have to show is my AVATAR. From the first time I saw the truck (1999 NSRA Nats) I had a vision of a SURVIVOR look. Like a 1948 Chevy P/U that some how survived. Dull paint, all original trim (minus the hood emblems and relocating tail lights and eliminating tailgate chains). Original style wheels and yea, LOWER. It's a 350/350 drive train-- P/S --P/DB--cruise control and 78,000 miles since I built it. The effect has been mixed--- some see it as I entended--- some see it as an old 50's hot rod--- either way, I'm happy that it's a great driver and Yea, I'm Proud of It. Bill

My theme is to make it appeal to 12 year old kid that resides in this old worn out body.

Yep, early 60s hotrod. Everything but the tires and battery and I’m working on that.

I like the "goddamn that looks fast look", also translated as the "looks like he built it himself" DSC07768.JPG

  14. Hey Fellas, these most recent entries are all fantastic.

  15. Dragged this home a few weeks ago. “Elizabeth” has been in one family since new. Guy out of work and just couldn’t keep her anymore. If the locked up motor doesn’t require major expenses $$$, would like to lower it, add a sun visor and skirts, then call it done.
Either way she’s gonna get a major scrubbing today inside and out. [IMG]

Haha. Maybe I wasn’t clear. These are some pics that are/have been an inspiration for my build. It will be a while before I’ll be driving mine, but I should have my C59 flattie running by Jan/Feb. Fingets crossed. Lol!

  17. Always wanted to build a Track-T style roadster using one of those Oldsmobile Quad4 engines, dressed up to look vintage. It was actually a damn good engine and set many speed records when it came out. Have seen a few builds, using them, and it looks really cool.

  18. This is what I'm talking about!!!

    Hey J,

Going through my old files, I found something you might like. Those big old cars did have some pizazz and competitive spirit. Check out the edit at :44

Have fun with your classic old car. We had tons of fun as teenagers in that old 1951 Olds Sedan.

The lowered 51 Olds sedan in the next pit lane could have been my brother’s 51 Olds sedan.
