I just bought this car out of Oklahoma. The previous owner didn't seem to have any good history on the car other than he thinks it was built around 63. It has a 283 and 54 Chevy brakes. 57 Chevy rear end and some really cool pinstripes. I would love to know more about the car if anyone has ever seen it ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1445562531.217672.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1445562551.694815.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1445562578.474951.jpg

It also has a t-10 4 speed. The previous owner bought the car off of eBay but only drove it on and off of trailers to shows.

No signatures. Previous owner said the pinstriper died before he finished the car. The cowl is half done and the rear fenders have one complete design and the other is half done.

Man, that thing screams 60's. Especially the striped panels on the sides of the doors and cowl and that interior.

That's a LOT of pinstriping. I can understand how the guy died in the middle of the job. He was probably twelve when he started and died at 76.

  14. Great looking car..The body looks pretty stock and straight. Does it still have the original wood?

From what I can tell the wood looks original. It is in fair shape compared to the rest of the car.

The pinstriping does not have a signature but does have two small men at the bottom of the completed pieces. The cowl striping is not complete along with the rear driver fender.

I saw the car at several different shows around Tulsa several years ago and did talk to the owner but I'll be damned if I can remember what all he said. seems like he told me it was an old drag car that had been setting for years and he found it in an old garage and bought it. I swear I remember it had a different engine in it besides a chev. I'm sure some of the other Okies will see this post and remember the car.

I think the car war a drag car in the fifties and turned into a hot rod in early sixties. Not sure where it was at during all of this. I was also told it was in storage for 40 years.

That car has been well cared for over the years to preserve the paint that nice......Makes my 32 and 40 look bad. I really, really like that striping.....Looks like a foo-man-chu dude in the the last pic.

I've been making some small changes to it lately. Dropped the front axle 3 inches along with the rear and had to get rid of the stock manifolds and exhaust.trying to keep it period correct.
