  1. Not closed, you need to draw air in from someplace. Either a vented fill cap or ducted to the air filter.

Those heads in the blown Model A picture are either '58 or '59 heads, and the boss was only cast on one end of the head, so the passenger side head would still have the non-boss end facing forward.

No a PCV system has to have some incoming air be it a filtered breather cap or a hose that would go into the air filter assembly.

You know, I saw the "Building a traditional early drag car" thread on the first day, and as soon as I opened it, I knew sure as shit that a 305 would be entering the picture...

who wants to bet a 3.08 rear gear is gonna be part of this deal as well...

  5. I stand corrected...Thanks for setting me straight! :D

  6. 305 sounds different to me than 283 does.

    3.08 I'm in for 5.00

Maybe it's 2 different cars because I hear talk of 2bbl intakes.

You've never heard me bitch about it, nothing ruins a car like the wrong engine.... I'm looking at doing an L-79 for my daily

BTW 283 cores aren't that rare, just get one, it wont have the shitty bore/stroke ratio that the 305 does, all in all a far better motor

Running, with as new compression, unleaded ready, for free? With a roller-cam?

Don't get me wrong, I love a 283, but not as much as the last 4 late-305's that I got for free.

God willing, I'll die before I run out of cores and have to resort to a 305. And 283's are not hard to find. 327's maybe, but not 283's.
