I am going to buy a new 180 MIG. I am going to buy from one of the local venders. Have any of you been successful in negotiating consumable prices to determine who you buy from? I realize that as a hobbyist I can not get the same price as someone that buys consumables by the truckload, but can I get a decent cut on the price? What should I aim for?

    Thanks.

Unless you're going to be a production welder, you won't (shouldn't) use up too much consumables. Tips,....maybe once in a while. Wire,.......depends on how much welding you do,.......same with AG25 bottle. Consumables are not high on my priority list for my mig. Stu

I use my Lincoln 175+ a fair amount and I go through maybe three tips year and about four rolls of wire. Not enough to even ask about a discount. I find the parts cheaper at Home Depot than the local welding supply and they are open late and on Sunday if needed.
