Your valve cover racers brought back some cool memories with my now adult Son and Daughter. We built this one for a local car club family event back in the 80's when I had my 37 Chevy Sedan Delivery. The design was to look like a Sedan Delivery and it was originally painted blue to match our car.
I once shipped it out to California to let a friend borrow it for a Goodguys event. They got it scratched up and gave it a new paint job for me. It also got some kind of Streetrodder pick.
The last time it was out was to Columbus Goodguys in 1999 and I let the son of one of my car club buddies race it. He lost the race but we got a nice "Best Bitchin Valve Cover" award.

Nice job & story. I only used mine at the Rumblers & another local show. Built em for my grandsons enjoyment, I did get carried away a bit !
