Last few bits before the body goes on. Speedo wiring run, fuel hooked up, brakes and clutch bled. Can't wait to swap out those rocker covers!
Your attention to detail is top notch! Very well put together car. Looking forward to seeing the car when it's done...
Thanks guys. I was talking with the trimmer this afternoon. I've made all the boards, seat back and base, firewall board, etc then over to his shop next week. He's making all the right noises but man, I get nervous when things are out of my control.
It's not quite what I imagined.. It's better. The only problem is....it's not mine. Tell Craig I am impressed/jealous. "Sparkies" make enough money over there to have a car like that? The popular opinion here is, "It's just wiring, no one sees it and therefore it should be cheap"......
Brootal suggested I check this build out, very cool looking roadster. I like the colour, good to see something other than black or red for a change ;-) I am a little way ahead of you in progress, it is the stressfull part where you worry about scratching stuff. I did well up until a week or so back when I scratched the underside of my I beam. At least it is an easy fix!
Hey Tony what is the alternator off? How much amps is it ?,I need something bigger on mine, thanx ...Rod..
It's a catalogue item, original application is a tractor or something like that. Anyways, it's 40 amps, which is heaps for this car as all it's running are the basics. Pm me, we may be able to sort you out. Troy, you're a funny guy. I repolished the Offy covers the other day, gotta paint betwen the fins yet. The trimmer is under way at last.
Do you really think that Troy at Hollywood Hot rods was the first to use that color combination? Don,t be an idiot!!
Thanks guys, I appreciate it. Yep, I can think of a dozen copper/cream combo cars off the top of my head. It works and the owner loves it. Painting the lettering in those repro '40 deluxe caps is a task. The stamping is nowhere as well defined as real ones. tried it in black, but went with copper in the end. We did agonise over the right copper and creams though. Went with Standox paint in the end over PPG, that was the painter's call. I mixed the cream 4 times to get that right, as in what I thought would be good to begin with was too dark so kept dosing up the white tinter. Ended up 100% again more white to bring it back to where it is. It would have been Ok to go with the original mix, but it lacked the pop in contrast. One of these days we'll actually get it outside and take some picks in the sun so you can see what it really looks like.
The colour Combination looks great. Great Quality in the build also. Your Getting there..... Keep going
