Event Coverage Deuce day at the Petersen 3-3-12

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by CW's40TPU, Mar 3, 2012.

  1. OK guy's and gals I've saved this one for last. I love barn/garage finds, well here's another one, it was parked in 1959, it seen daylight again two weeks ago. This three window has been sitting in a garage in Montebello Ca for 50 + yrs without any one knowing about it, even close family members had forgotten about it. The 86 yr old gentleman that owned it just gave it to his nephew Steve. It has an interesting story that goes with it but it's get'n late and I'm tired sooo I won't get into that now.......maybe another night?

Thanks for all the great pictures of the birthday cars.

Was the deuce display in the carpark opposite the entrance to the museum, in the carpark, and then flowing onto the roof? If so, there must have been a hell of a lot of 32's there to fill all that parking area.

86 years young--the barn find gentleman?? We are lucky to be alive while these stories are still happening. Won't be long now until you just don't here that anymore.
    Totally cool.
Thanks for taking the time to post so many pictures of what was obviously a fabulous day.

  15. These photos posted by CW's40TPU are of HAMBer Sam Davis' (carsick) 5 window. How many other HAMBer owned cars were present?

BTW, thanks to everyone who took pictures and posted them so folks like me who couldn't attend could at least see some of the action.

Can you fill us in on the details, who found it, when, how, etc? Have Hot Rodders driven buy it all these years on their way to events, not knowing it was there?

I was docent-ing and directing traffic there all morning. There really was an amazing variety of periods and body styles.

The pre-entry was about 325, plus maybe another 50 who registered when they arrived. There was still a lot of room in the garage, though. Another 100 cars would have fit.
