Was blessed to visit the Casa Grande yard this week. Most of the front office has been out with covid and they have little yard help. (like everywhere) The office guy showed me the big stack of orders that need to be picked & shipped yet. He stated like many operations, Covid has been the best news in years for the old car hobby. The big news is that they are crushing cars. The other big news is that they are making room for 5-6 hundred cars from a large, closed yard someplace south of Tucson. Kind of a mixed blessing? There is a ton of great iron there, definitely a career for a smaller operation but much of it is heavily picked. I spent several hunnert bucks but on some stuff they were well above my price point.
Saw this '58 Pontiac mill from a GMC. Between the bell, intake & exhaust manifolds, Pan, oil pump, gusher tubes, there is at least 700 buck there!
Out with the Old and in with the Old...that has a nice ring to it...that would be a interesting new phenomenon for wrecking yards...buy them up and move them elsewhere... Any way they live on is a bonus I suppose...many will find this news...good news...HNY @Bird man...
