Update: The driver of the Ford is the one who died. Both he and his passenger were ejected from the car. The passenger and the driver of the truck are at a local hospital receiving care.

The road has become a dangerous place.

Sadly, the road has ALWAYS been a dangerous place.

  9. This is true. However, as cars become more actively safe, drivers become more used to the car they're driving keeping them safe so that they pay less attention to the road. Society and the industry aids and abets this with more and more distractions.
I've cynically wished that a driver's first car be anything with column shift and manual everything. THAT should make texting and driving a bit more difficult.

Seat belts folks. At least they don't have to hunt for you. You will be dead in the car. If it's your time to go nothing is going to save you. So don't speed up your time by not wearing seat belts.
Ejected from the car is just careless and kind of dumb. My prayers go out to the family of the victims.

Sad but very true statement as both were ejected from the car. I'd be busted all the hell rather than have a sore shoulder from when a garbage truck rear ended my ot daily last September if I hadn't had my seat belt on. He hit me and shoved me into the guard rail where the second impact was worse than the first.
From the photos it looks like the Ford Delivery T boned the truck. Not much left of the front of the Ford.

  14. Based on a mention by locals of other accidents happening there, I suspect a blind curve and/or overgrown trees and shrubs limiting the view of the cross street. From the photos, it looks like a one-way stop.

Apparently the Ford ran a stop sign at the intersection.

Driving is a full time job but too many don't see it that way. Seems like an intersection with problems.
