  1. Got two more panels done on interior today . Will make a strong cover for this as it’s not a seat , it’s a battery-cover/ice chest ,toolbox or what ever carrier . About a dozen to go . Hope to have interior done before LSR in April. Will take it done or not . Blue

How do you plan to protect the back panel from scuffing? When I was powder coating I had some silver that looked a lot like aluminum, but was tougher than hell. Or, you might get it clear coated with powder.
I also had some grey spatter texture powder that was popular in bush plane interiors. They always have rifles, fishing rods, back packs and/or moose horns bouncing around inside even when tied down and this stuff kept them looking good a long time.

You have probably already thought about it, but it might be a good idea to add a few tied down points. If you have to stop quickly to avoid some moron it might be uncomfortable to be smacked in the back with ice, beer and tools.

  4. Fabber , yes I’ve got a plan for the lid and surrounding area . Did this panel today and you can see the sacrificial oak on sides and will be on the lid also . Still have some trimming and mounting to do . Stopped working after I broke a tap in the top of the window mounting . Be gone this next week to float the river down south before they build the wall . By the looks of your work, you don't need any help from me.
What grade aluminum are you using? The panels just knock me out.

  10. 3003 .063 half hard . It’s soft enough to move easy but also scratches easy . If I was building ,oh let’s say buckets or any high usage thing , I’ll use some 6000 product . I’m really just learning . Hope to figure out my power hammer this summer . Thanks for the comment and tuning in . Blue

Tin work reminds me of a stainless steel roadside diner I used to eat in. The inside was finished in tin work just like your interior.

That's why it costs so much to have someone else do it. I'm notorious for underestimating the time it takes to do things.... one of the reasons I'm no longer in the fabrication business, hahaha.

  18. Rebuilt the doors with latches , widow welting , insulation and new hinge pins . Got them mounted and shimming now . Been working on my shop , moving thing around , and took down one work bench . This gave me 40 square feet more space . Sheet metal fab area much better and better lighting for my beadroller . Leaving for Austin for Lone Star Roundup in 16 days . Three of these days I will be out of town with my wife who is having surgery . Car will not be done but taking it anyway . Will be like some kind of tv show around here . Not much sleep and lots of stress . Blue

  19. Bad day in the shop yesterday , not very productive. Started making the top for the back area and hit the last dimple a little too hard . Broke thru in one area . Don’t really like the way it turned out anyway so I layed out a new one today. Punched my dimples out and will finish it on Thursday . Doesn’t look right without diamonds to match . Was going to use wood strips between each raised area . But new one is completely different . Blue

  20. Replaced the cover above , mounted with a SS hinge, and wood strips . Used a grab rail from a big rig sleeper and two coat hanger rails for tie downs . Cut down some seat belts and sewed them up . Didn’t think I would ever use a plane and sewing machine on this project .
Got the pipes mounted and warmed up the paint . They sound great and the new paint looks great and didn’t change colors .
Leaving for Lonestar Roundup on Wenesday, hope my new wheels come in befor I leave . Latter , Blue .

Finished the last large panel on the inside of the roof and mounted the seats . Took her out for a drive today . I love it . Runs great but may have a hard time keeping tires on har . Speedo didn’t work ?
I’m happy with it but might lower the seat as much as possible. Anybody going to LSR this what I will be in and what I can or can’t see . Stop by and drink a cold one . Blue
