Greg, AKA de-fenders from the Springfield, OH area is one of the best hot rodding ambassadors our hobby has. He drove his little ’31 roadster over to my father-in-law’s house tonight and took him for a spin. The best part is that Greg got there before me and Joe, my F-I-L thought he was just there to show off the car. When we told him that Greg was there to take him for a ride, Joe got real happy, real fast. Joe had a pretty serious stroke about 15 years ago and he doesn’t get out much. So this was a HUGE deal. Joe is gonna have that silly grin on his face for a LOOOOONNNNG time, thanks to a hot rodder. Speaking of hot rodder; my mother-in-law kept commenting to me and my wife while Greg was out cruising with Joe how much of a nice and polite ‘boy’ Greg was to do this. I told her that Greg was on a one man mission to change the image of hot rodders. She thought that was funny. She and Joe are well aware that hot rodders are usually cast in a bad light for all the wrong reasons. They fully support the hobby, so much that they usually give me gift cards to speed shops for birthdays and X-Mas. They’re the best. Enough with my babbling. Here’s Greg, Joe and the hot rod. Greg is the one wearing the So-Cal hat. Thanks Greg. You made an old man’s day, week and prolly year! Vance
that is an amazing thing for Greg to do. That kind of thing really does show how good of people hot rodders are/can be. I hope there are more people like Greg out there than I think there are. It seems to me like good people like Greg are a dying breed.
Vance, thanks for the kind words, just trying to help out a fellow HAMBer. Count yourself lucky to have such a nice family.Greg
