this is one of mt favorite dashes i have seen
I'm an old goat so there have been waaaaayyyyy many nifty dashes that have appealed over the years, but the first that really knocked me out was in '61 (the car in question would be around 25 at the time).
I was riding my bike down Sherman Way in Canoga Park. Parked at the curb in front of Sturtevant's Auto Parts was the most striking, gorgeous, black car with a white top...……..I'd never seen anything like it, hidden headlights and all. When I stuck my head in the open side window to see the interior and particularly the dash I was absolutely floored...…...
Our old Cord was impressive, it reminded me of the Spirit of St. Louis. I've like turned dashes (or anything, for that matter) ever since I was a little kid.
My '62 TBird had the look of a jet fighter
My favorite is the 59-60 Chevy and the 55-56 Chevy very sexy
Nowhere near as pretty as some but I like it.
I agree! Here's the dash of my Nomad
Around 1960 my brother Tom purchased a wrecked 57 Stude Golden Hawk in the So Cal desert.
He put everything, 289, blower, big brakes, rear end, and the beautiful Hawk dash into his 53
Champion coupe. That car really made an impression on me at 13 years old.
There are so many that I love, like the 57 T-Bird, the 39 Ford DeLuxe, most of the 1930s Chrysler products, even the OT 69 Mustang Mach 1, and like mentioned above, the 55-56 Chevy because of its symmetry, here is mine:
Wow, very cool Stude. My cousin had a golden hawk in the early 60's, but I like the 53 better.
oops forgot to delete my speedo pik, I was going to show my 160mph speedo but the pik only shows 150!
May not be dashing, but it is HOT ROD.... **clic pic**
Pontiac up through the 1960s used an Indian head logo for the high beam indicator. I've always liked that detail.
This is the David Holland book. A wonderful gift from my wife many years ago.
Mother N.'s real tree wood grain can add a lot to flow of design, note moms nott hole was the best place for speed-O hole to match all.
The first old car dash that really made an impact on me was obviously the dash in our '32 Ford 5wd Coupe:
... but the old car dash that really "stands out in my mind" is the dash in our Jet Black '57 Chrysler 300 Coupe (now owned by @johnl):
I have a statement that I make when people ask about choices and building a car: the steering wheel, dash and top of the hood are what you look at the most. Don't screw them up!
This is my old 64 Bonneville with a Hurst Autostick I shifter and my old 64 Grand Prix with a 421 and a Slim Jim Hydro. It also had AM/FM with reverb.. The Daddio of the Raddio sounds real cool with the reverb...
Dashboards can be so cool. Especially at night.
When I was a kid, my dad's 1957 Plymouth sat in the garage for a long time and I sit in there and admire the dashboard. I remember snub-nosed bullet-shaped chrome knobs.
But the dashboard that really sticks out in my mind from when I was a kid in the early to mid 1960s...
Not a car, but it did a lot to make me want to get behind the wheel of something with a lot of chrome and fancy knobs and stuff.

Some stuff I work on
1960 Chrysler 300F
1931 Chrysler Imperial 8 CG
1960 Ford Sunliner
I've been saving for many years to use in something,
Cool white face gauges.
I really like the dash in my 58 Corvette mostly because the tach is in your face.
My 31 Buick had a good looking dash
how about a '47 Plymouth
and a '49 Chrysler
besides the 57 plymouth dash
Yeah, the one that got away.
I like the stock dash in my 47 Ford coupe, but these 41 Ford dashes look pretty slick too
