Do you guys add any fuel additives for daily drivers? Lead substitute or anything like that?

just a myth, old cars don't need lead and if your car isn't knocking doesn't need any more octane and pretty much all the other additives are BS too. Just buy the lowest octane gas your car will run without knocking and keep the savings for other stuff. No need to give anymore to the oil companies than they already rape you for. And definitely don't spend any thing for any of the snake oil crap.

I do add heet (or a $.79 bottle of rubbing alcohol) when the winter gas comes in, I've had water in the fuel a couple times. Once so bad, my truck wouldn't run in gear.

STP. The racers edge. Both oil and gas treatment. My old man swore by that stuff. I guess I do it out of habit, but I also have never had an engine go bad. EVER.

Yes! I have a '60 Pontiac Ventura. Everything intact and rebuilt, except the engine. It's the medium version with 10.25:1 compression (High). It's been dialed in and knocks when using reg. grade and time to time using 91. Using Octane boost makes a big difference in knocking and milage, also I fill-up w/91 octane. I like they way it's dialed-in and don't want to make adjustments for lower grade of gas. Pontiac recomends 98 octane w/Hydro (which I have). I also add Mystery Oil at least once a month or so. It's my daily and notice every little change. Though gas prices are good right now.

the size of the "glug" depends on how much fuel is to be pumped.

this is a very scientific situation and the formula has been passed down from generation to generation.

but for you, I would say about a quarter to half an ounce per gallon. Good fuel system cleaner and it is cheap.

I buy the gallon size at Wally World

i run marvel in my 42' dodge, but its origional with 73k on the stock 236 flathead 6. If it sits for more than a few weeks, a valve sticks open. Marvel does help to lube it and get it moving

i have lead additive in the fuel, oil additive & trans additive, Not worth a damn.
Engine runs no different, Gotta sticky lifter, and the trans just slides and doesnt 'Pop' into gear anymore.

I always try to tell this to a friend of mine. We have a ongoing argument about octane. He swears he can feel that his truck has a little more power when he uses a higher octane. Dumbass.

I don't use any additives either, never had a problem.
