My tub before maroon paint at the first or second Throttlers Picnic, my friends Don Bell and Bob Berry who started the Throttlers made me an "Honorary Throttler", gave me a plaque and told me not to put it on a car. Both really good guys now gone. Plaques in my house.

John -- I'm in Sunland/Tujunga usually once a week to visit a relative. A few months ago, give or take, I saw a '39 or '40 primered tub coming down the street. I'm going to go out on a limb here, and say (how many of these can there be in Sunland/Tujunga???) that it might have been you.

This thread is a big reminder of 1965, when I could have bought one from a friend of a friend that I'd ridden in several times and wanted. The problem was that he wanted two and a half to three times what they were worth at the time. Telling everyone reading this what that dollar amount was (if they didn't live through that time period) would just freak them out.

 

I drove my tub around S/T about 12-18 Mo's ago, Will be driving it much more in a few weeks, my good friend Bruce was driving his around in primer too we're both In S/T his was grey primer mine was black primer. His is the Green one above now. We built both of them together. JW

 

I saw this under construction at the LARS a few years ago. Carson style top not completed.
