I would like to work out how many gallons a gas tank will hold. I have limited space between the frame rails and have a couple of options, so need to know which will hold the most. Anybody know how to convert cubic inches into gallons? Cheers, Stewart.
Science made simple has conversions on-line for almost anthing you can think of. http://www.sciencemadesimple.com/ Tom
Bloody 'ell. Ipost asking a question, lokk at another post for all of a couple of seconds, check back on mine and the answer is already there!!!! This place is the bollocks!!!!! Thanks 36 3W. Cheers, Stewart.
Buick 231 V6 is a one gallon motor. Lincoln 462 is a two gallon motor. I don't know how litters fit into all of this.
Here is a great little (free!) program I use all the time; work and play. http://joshmadison.com/software/convert/
Google is handy for this stuff, and everyone already knows where to find it. Just type in "X cubic inches in gallons" with X being the number of cubic inches you want converted. It does not look it up, it does the calculations and provides the answer. It does all kinds of conversions and calculations like that. Slonaker
Length (in inches) X width (in inches) X height (in inches divided by 231 = gallons. I always can remember it by thinking Buick 231 motor, lol.
Ditto! I literally just was going to post this. Handy little tool to keep on the desktop so you don't have to think about things. Been using this forever and it's great!! Two thumbs up!! AND... it's FREE!!
