If your asking about the Crosley wagon it runs F/FCC. That's 123- 183 cu in engine in Fuel Competiton Coupe. It's a Fontana four cylinder chevy. I think it ran 163mph. John

I hope to get into the 18s& 70's next year. The new name of the car is"High Times" (get it?) See you at the drags!

Been trying to locate pictures of a Crosley station wagon drag car from the early 60's that was owned by some folks in Norwalk Ohio. They lived across from my parents house (151 Milan Ave.). Beside their house was a medical center which is still there. I was about 10 years old (1962) when I first saw it, and I thought, and still do, that it was one of the coolest ever.
It was red oxide primer with the little stock 12" wheels set out in front of the body, a chopped top, SBC mill with dual AFB carbs set back under the windshield and the driver positioned way at the back. It had slicks mounted on reversed steel wheels, and both the front and back rims were painted black.
Pretty impressionable at 10 years old, I thought these guys were Drag Racing Gods!
Anybody out there that may have some pictures of this car?

no pics of that car, but you have just described pretty much the iconic 60's crosley altered.

Yes, I realized that as I was writing the description. I was trying to remember anything REALLY outstanding about the car, and at the time, that was about the best I could do. Since then I realize the one thing that did set it apart from pictures of others I've seen (including the pic. you posted ) is that, the whole car sat pretty low, with a pronounced rake to the front. So, that made the front of the car very low.
Luckily, I am going back to Ohio on the 6th of Jan. I have talked to my 5 year older brother that remembers the car. He has asked around to his friends, and found out the name of the guy, (which I cannot remember now) that owned, built, and raced the car. Unfortunately,.. he recently passed away.
My brother is sure that someone will be able to come up with some pictures, and memories of it.
My relatives are somewhat technologically challenged, so I will have to wait until after the 18th of Jan. (when I return home) to scan and upload any pictures that I may receive.

I will keep everybody posted on, what has now become a quest for information.

This will also be a test of my own hazy/smokey 48 year old memories of this car..

Not so sure now if the top was chopped or not,...stay tuned.

Since someone asked: I wanted to get a color on the car and save the lettering. So I ended up with "turkey feathers" around the lettering. Driveline is pretty standard stuff; 406 sbc, reverse pattern th350 w/trans brake, Currie 9" w/3.70. Homemade frame with Magnum front axle, Chris Alston cage. This car had a fiberglass Fiat body on it prior to the Crosley body. I had to get in through the roof and NHRA didn't like that. Wanted it to be a center steer car. Now it is a "door car" and I've had no problem with Tech. Even though I've run a couple times a year, I've never really hammered on it or used the transbrake. Maybe in 2011.

My old Crosley TQ that was built in the 60's and the Late Ray Leisure's yellow TQ out of Rushville Ind..Both Crosley powered. I had just bought a TQ body from Ray before he passed away. I will build it one of these days! John
