    Okay I'll play
Here is one of my money pits--hopefully H.A.M.B. worthy, TUPPERWARE ALERT
Dee Wescott loaded it with his forklift, so there's a clue how long I've been building it.
Sometimes front burner, sometimes to the back--life goes on either way!!!!
This was ordered with one request that Dee said he really does not enjoy doing.
You will notice the phaeton seat style trunk divider--kinda proud to know Dee actually had a hand in this body build.

I love the Wescott bodies. I'm curious about the Phaeton back divider. What did you gain except more trunk space?
The dirt track was popular in the 80's here in LA. Here is one my friend built with Eastwood chassis and Wescott body. He is still going strong. Keep pushing and you will be driving it soon.

Lynn--Being a B&R Oregonian there just wasn't any question who's body to get(quality, reputation, etc.) As to what was gained; not having wood dust all over my shop, plus the plan for this car was for it to be just a "bare bones" hot rod. You know, no radio, no plush upholstery, no top, no heat, no a.c. no whining. Probably why my wife said "I hope you like being alone a lot".
Never much cared for wood in my cars so just figured a little glass finishing and shoot some bed liner on it and call it good.
As to the phaeton divider I'm not sure you could get Wescotts(Karl) to put one in their roadster bodies now.
Lynn, this has always been my bucket list car so haven't put much pressure on myself to get it finished any time soon.

I am talking to Karl about another 33 body in a month or two. I think they are the best out there.

    Hey Roadsir, thanks for asking--
Been in a holding pattern financially speaking, you know; cash flow issues.
No new progress since the car was blown apart, had planned on having the chassis painted and then assemble it to at least have a roller, but decided to save some $$ for my wifes Nova project.
I want to get her headers and exhaust system coated, then if I like the outcome I want to have my roadster exhaust done the same way, I'm considering thermal barrier coating with a color called titanium. I'm sure you know this is not a cheap proposition, and I just can't bring myself to start cutting corners at this stage.
Really wish I had something to show off on the roadster, but it's on the back burner for a while.
So I'll just have to live vicariously through all you other HAMBERS' projects.

I like you car a lot. But I think those rear tires are to wide for the car. But all in all a beautiful car.
Will you dress that mill to look the part?

Any interior shots? 427 SBC most be a killer machine? As big as a 427 W BBC. How powerfull? Ballpark is fine.

    Keep at it, lad.

  22. Wow- looks great.

A stock SBC weighs ~575 lb; how much does yours weigh?
What size are the rear tires?

    Thanks!

I would agree about the tires if it was planned to be just a street rod style driver but my plan is to actually get some "dirt time" with this car.
Not quite sure what you mean by look the part regarding the engine though.
As far as interior goes what you saw in previous photo is pretty much finished, may put a mat in to catch the flying dirt.

    Gary--
I'm sure there's someone here with answers to your question about weight of steel v./alum. blocks, but truthfully never really thought much about it.

Tires are 12.0/30.00-15, these were some of the last old 721 compound true sprint car tires, bought from Weisel Firestone in Penn. many years ago. I think Coker is doing them now in a 4 ply version for street use.

The pic of interior didn't load first time around, my bad.
    Nice interior.
Okay, if it gets raced, those might not be an issue post some pics of it throwing dirt! Respect!

I mean no disrespect, but the valve covers, breathers and aircleaner just look out of place like a black nail(busted), on a office hand.
But that is just my personal oppinion, and you didn't ask for it it.
If you are gonna race it, it's function over look, and they serve a purpose.

Nice rod, no doubt about it.

That would make my pants fit funny, and move focus away from valve covers

    Still a cool ride!

    That is awesome.

Why are there two torque values and two BHP values?
What is BHP? Dyno on mill, simulated road or enginebrake?

    Is this car or engine?
