    That's right, I went to place an ad to sell my #1178 casting number, 302 Chevrolet, crankshaft. Life changes, but life goes on; it just costs us more. I am Butch/56sedandelivery.

    Don't know about Washington, but here in Bama Craigslist is still free to individual's. There has always been a charge I believe for some business ads, but for us and our parts there is still no charge.

    Kijiji seems more popular here and only charge for add upgrades. Thinking about it even a small charge for regular adds would weed out a lot of the bulls**t. Phil

  4. I seem to use let-go, offer up and Facebook more than I do Craigslist anymore

    Dealer ads cost a few bucks. Private party ads are free in my area. Kijiji is useless in my area. Let it go and offer up, see little action near me

    Can somebody explain to me how Craig's was making any money before? I never once seen any kind of advertisment on their site. It must cost something to have a host server. Was Craig doing it out of the goodness of his heart?

    I Don't Have Any Problem Paying For Advertising Especially If My Stuff Becomes Some One Else's Stuff..Just Business...

  10. I've always thought the same thing about email. Charging even a penny or two per each email sent, including commercial and bulk-mailers, should make the email servers a decent amount of money. And I suspect it would cut down on a lot of the spam and scams. I don't suspect it would cost most personal users more than 50 cents or a dollar a month.

    You are already paying for you your email service when you pay you ISP's bill each month. Whatever the limits or benefits are is determined by your plan.

    Happy about charging the dealers in the cars/ trucks section. It never fails when I type in "1957 Ford" for example I get swamped with new, Kia's, Hyundai's, Toyota's, etc, filling up the space. The dealers have taken advantage of a good thing and ruined it for themselves.

    In the upper right corner of the CL page, click on "OWNER". This sorts out most of the dealer SPAM.

    They should add to that list any auto parts with the description "Corvette" attached.

  19. I never had much success with craigslist. Ive been using Facebook Marketplace and it has been real good, Ive got 4 itemson the marketplace at present. Im trying to gang up some money. Im kinda broke at the moment. We just bought some acreage and paid cash. And there is a really good estate auction on Jan 1st. There is a derelick 59 Pontiac and some other desirable junk that's selling. Ive been wanting a 59 -389 engine for quite a while.

    Careful what you wish for, you'll end up like this State with additional taxes already tacked on to gas, lumber, etc.. The watch groups and internet providers (ISP's) successfully stopped a proposed "tax on internet use" some time back. The State will be taking another swipe at it in 2019. This week, the State announced a proposed "tax on texting" to bolster the program that provides free cell phones/service to the poor and homeless. (there's already a charge on everyone's cell service for this).

    CL used to have a short menu that would pop up when you went to view "Cars ,Trucks"
    Then it didn't pop up.??

    Now, it's a selection on the upper Left of the page;

  25. Still free here too, but like was said way more action on Facebook in the select groups and market place, I've bought and sold some really good stuff.
    I even started a "Vintage Mag Wheel/ bias ply tire" group to help people find those elusive 60's rims/tires.

  26. They shut down the ads for “women seeking men” and “massage,” and that was about half their business. So yeah, they’re probably on their way out.
