Anybody care to hazard a guess or estimate of how many cubic feet per minute of air flow is necessary to keep a stock 302 sbf cool in a model a ford? I have clearance problems and am trying to come up with a combination of electric puller fans (like maybe 3 - a ten inch center top and maybe a couple 7 inchers bottom left and right) to avoid interference with water pump and crankshaft pulleys (I've already switched to a shorty water pump and cvf pulleys and things are STILL tight!) Any advice would be welcome!!
How about relocating the rad to the back of the car , if a coupe, and use an air scoop under the car to get air to the rad. If the coolant lines run under the car you will get some cooling and more capacity. My 2 cents, Rob.
That's an interesting idea -- it IS a coupe but I think I want the radiator in the front of the car for the traditional looks and, I don't think a scoop will give me much help when the car is standing still in traffic!
cooling components makes a 2 5/8s thick electric fan with shrould works great when theres no room. call them give them your dimentions they have one that will work 17 inch fan, installed 2 one on 40 ford other on a deuce worked great.
